Sydney human towers
Welcome to the official page of Sydney Human Towers. Human towers (also called Castellers) are a tradition from Catalonia, born more than 300 years ago and declared by UNESCO to be amongst the Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity in 2010.
As the first human tower group in Sydney, we are commited to expand this tradition in Australia and teach everyone interested on how to build them, regardless of age, gender or nationality.
Since human towers need very different profiles of people, everybody have a relevant place inside the structure. That makes human towers perfect for entire families who wants to enjoy doing an outdoor activity all together.
Making human towers is not only a fun thing to do, but it´s also very social. Every structure involves many people working all together to reach a common end, so all individuals finds themselves actively interacting with other people while building the tower, but also before and once it has ended. This make human towers a perfect way to meet new people, who will, for sure, become friends.
Also, it´s an activity that involves strength and balance (such as yoga, for instance), so it´s a good way to do a different kind of exercise, making human tower building also a good way to get healthier.
But besides being social, healthy and bring families together, the most important is that is FUN. You will spend hours participating in building human towers and you will not have enough of it.
